No, the photograph above is not of a Radio Controlled Model! It is a Three Quarter scale (75%) aerobatic Biplane hangered at the Texas Aviation Museum on Galveston Island, Texas. And, Yes, it is flown semi-regularly and the pilot is almost Six Foot tall! I would have loved to watch it fly. The photographs below were also taken at the Texas Aviation Museum as well as about 30 more. (You can view all of the photgraphs elsewhere on this website.) The photograph on the left, below, is the "Nose-art" on an A-1E Skyraider hangered at the museum, and it does fly regularly. I saw a bunch of these A-1E's fly during my stay in Viet-Nam. The photograph on the right, below, is one of several vehicles on display at the museum and no, it does not fly regularly. I certainly recommend the museum to anyone living or visiting in that area of south Texas. It's good to see old airplanes that are well maintained and regularly flown. |
I may be mistaken, but isn't this a 1937 Chevy?
