Club Picnic 11:00 AM - Saturday, May 3, 2008! |
Editorialby Ron Roberts
First, just a few days ago Bill Womble, one of our members, lost his mother to death. Many of us have lost one or both of our parents and know the great sorrow and "empty" feeling that comes when we lose a parent. May the following help ease your pain, Bill: "Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, Where the floods overflow me. I am weary with my crying; Make haste to me O God! You are my help and my deliverer. O Lord, do not delay." from the Psalms, by David
Brad's life has been airplanes! He is a highly skilled RC and full scale pilot and recently retired from his job as a corporate pilot. Too many hours at 30,000 feet looking into the sun has taken it's toll on Brad's skin. The cancer has been removed and His doctor has ordered him to stay out of the sun "for awhile". Let's hope it's just a short while! As per the club's By-Laws, the Board of Directors will meet May 5, 2008 and appoint a replacement.
Last year we had a lot of fun and plenty of food. Make your plans to spend the afternoon at the field. Entry fee is:
Bring the food at 11:00 and we will eat and have a good time. After that ... It's Flying Time! |
